Rotate Rings Guide: How to Play & Level Walkthroughs
Learn Rotate Rings with illustrated solutions for levels 1–3, the level 4 Firework tutorial, touch controls, ring mechanics and help with saving your progress.
Rotate Rings walkthroughs: levels 1–3
These opening boards were completed in the version playable on our homepage. Match the ring colours, pins and layout in each screenshot before following a solution: another release can use a different puzzle at the same level number. Start with the free branches, then work towards the centre.
Level 1: bring the gap to the latch

Turn the purple ring until its opening meets the blue latch on its right, then release. The two pieces come free together. Lift and grab again if you need more turning room.
Level 2: clear the branches first

Free the upper-left purple ring and the lower-left orange ring from the blue ring’s pins. Then turn the blue ring so its opening reaches the green pin. The last two pieces release together.
Level 3: use small turns at each pin

Turn the top purple opening towards the green pin above it. Turn the lower purple opening towards the pin below it. Release each ring when aligned; the outside green ring clears once both are free.
Level 4: the first Firework tutorial
This sequence shows one tested use of the first booster. Keep the whole board in view, choose a target, and wait for the effect before making your next move. The screenshots below are from this site’s playable version.
1. Select Firework

At level 4, the tutorial asks you to select Firework. Tap the rocket button at the bottom left. In our test it showed three uses before selection.
2. Choose the cyan ring

With Firework selected, tap the cyan ring at the upper left of the board. The targeting effect appears over it. This is a targeted action; selecting the rocket alone does not remove a piece.
3. Check what remains

Wait for the animation. In this tested example, the cyan ring and the closed orange ring below it disappear, and the Firework count changes from three to two. The bar and the right-hand chain remain: this is the tutorial step, not a complete level 4 solution.
Read the board: openings, pins and closed rings
- Opening and pin. The break in a ring is its exit. In level 1, turn the purple opening to the pin joining it to the blue piece. A large turn is not the goal; alignment at the connection is.
- Branches and removal order. In level 2, the purple and orange branches can be released before the blue centre. If the centre is still attached at several points, inspect its branches before forcing a turn.
- Closed outer ring. The outside green ring in level 3 has no opening. Work on the two purple rings inside it: once both openings meet their pins and the inner pieces release, the outer ring clears too.
- A different shape needs a different check. Level 4 introduces a bent bar and a closed orange ring. Identify these shapes before applying a ring-only solution. The Firework sequence above covers the tutorial action; it does not establish a manual solution for that board.
When a ring will not come free
- Check the opening. Dragging in a straight line does not turn a ring reliably. Move around its centre and aim the opening at the attached pin.
- Try the other piece. A pin may belong to a neighbouring ring. Clear the outer branches first, or rotate the ring held by that pin.
- Re-grip for fine control. Release, grab a solid part of the ring and make a smaller turn. You do not need a single uninterrupted sweep.
Rotate Rings questions and troubleshooting
Why does my level look different from another walkthrough?
Rotate Rings releases can use different boards at the same level number. Compare the number of rings, their colours, the openings and any bars or pins. These screenshots document the version playable here; a solution for a different layout may not apply.
Why does dragging across a ring not rotate it?
Hold a solid part of the ring and move around its centre, following an arc. Dragging straight across the centre gives poor control. For a small correction, release, grab again and make a short turn near the pin.
Do I need Firework to finish the first three levels?
No. We completed the three opening boards shown above with ring rotations alone. Firework is introduced by the level 4 tutorial. This guide does not claim that every later board can be completed without a booster.
Can I use these moves for every release or every later level?
No. The numbered walkthroughs here cover only the three photographed opening boards, plus a separate level 4 Firework tutorial. Later levels and other versions need their own checked solutions.
Can I play on a phone?
Hold a ring with one finger and drag around its centre. Use fullscreen for more room, keep your touch on the board, and lift your finger before grabbing a different ring. Use small turns near a pin when the screen feels crowded.
Saving and returning
Progress and unfinished ring positions are stored in this browser on this device. Reload returns to the game menu; choose Start to continue. Private browsing, blocked storage or clearing site data can remove your save. There is no account backup or cloud sync.
How do I return from fullscreen?
Use Exit fullscreen below the game. On a narrow screen, the browser’s Back action also returns to the page without closing the game.
What if loading stalls?
Check your connection and use Reload below the game. Avoid clearing site data as a first step because it can delete progress. A current browser with WebGL is required.
How was this Rotate Rings guide tested?
Levels 1–3 were completed in the browser version hosted on this website, and the screenshots show those boards. The level 4 section documents the tested Firework tutorial action, not a full level solution.
The illustrated walkthroughs were checked on October 28, 2026. Desktop mouse input and Android touch simulation were checked again on October 29, 2026; no physical Android phone was tested. Compare the ring shapes and pins with your board before following a move, because releases can use different puzzles at the same level number.
Game version and original sources
This guide covers our browser build of Rotate Rings on Playgama, credited there to Whalebox. We checked and archived that source build on October 28, 2026. The walkthrough text and gameplay screenshots were produced from our own playtests; they are not the original developer’s instructions.
The build shown here begins with a purple open ring connected to a blue piece. That board, rather than a level number alone, identifies the version covered. Read our copyright and attribution notice for the game’s ownership and this website’s independent status.
